Baseball Recap: Key West Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Key West won the last time they faced Miami and things went their way on Saturday too. The Conchs walked away with an 11-8 win over the Stingarees. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Conchs.

Vinny Moline looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Caden Pichardo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nelson Ong, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Key West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Key West's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Miami, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Key West will face off against Eustis at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Conchs are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Miami, they will square off against Reagan at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bison have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Stingarees will no doubt try to take advantage of.
