Recap: Peoria Panthers vs. Moon Valley Rockets
After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three games, The Peoria Panthers finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a 21-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Moon Valley. Peoria gained 136 more yards on the day, but it was Moon Valley that made the best of use of them.
Peoria's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Quintin Sullivan, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Moon Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coleton Carlson, who rushed for 40 yards and two touchdowns.
Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Moon Valley, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-5.
Peoria will challenge Carl Hayden Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carl Hayden Community comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Moon Valley, they will be playing at home against Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Glendale's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
