Basketball Recap: Lanesboro Comes Up Short

Lanesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 58-51 to the Houston Hurricanes. If the Burros were looking for revenge after losing 57-40 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Houston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Rohweder led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Rohweder is becoming a predictor of Houston's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 11-2 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Carter Geiwitz was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds.

Lanesboro now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Houston, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanesboro will square off against Houston at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Houston, they will face off against LeRoy-Ostrander at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
