Basketball Recap: Webber Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Webber hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost three straight) but thanks in part to Edyn Knight that streak is no more. The Webber Trojans were the clear victor by a 65-42 margin over the Steeleville Warriors on Monday thanks in part to Knight, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Laney Hails, who posted four points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Webber is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Steeleville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Webber has already played their next game (against Galatia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Steeleville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sesser-Valier/Waltonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sesser-Valier/Waltonville will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Steeleville surely won't give up without a fight.
