Football Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Clayton Valley Charter kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Spanish Springs Cougars and fell 42-13. The Ugly Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Clayton Valley Charter had strong showings from Jhadis Luckey, who rushed for 154 yards and one score, and Mirza Mann, who threw for 95 yards and one TD.

Spanish Springs was led to victory by Cooper Milligan and Tyson McNeil. Milligan rushed for 95 yards on only ten carries, while McNeil threw for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.

Spanish Springs has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Clayton Valley Charter and Spanish Springs should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Ugly Eagles will take on College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (123 vs. 434). Meanwhile, Spanish Springs (ranked fifth) will meet Carson (ranked 40th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
