Baseball Game Preview: Eastmark Firebirds vs. Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks

The Eastmark Firebirds will head out to face off against the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Eastmark has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Desert Sunrise will arrive with three straight wins.

On Thursday, Eastmark came up short against Crismon and fell 6-2.

Eastmark saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Snyder, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Desert Sunrise's hitters rose to the challenge against a Criminals pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.43 runs allowed on Thursday. Desert Sunrise walked away with an 11-7 victory over Yuma.

The team relied heavily on Jacoby Garcia, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alexander Vale, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Desert Sunrise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Eastmark's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Desert Sunrise, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
