Baseball Game Preview: Lakota East Thunderhawks vs. Batavia Bulldogs

The Lakota East Thunderhawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Batavia Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Lakota East came up short against Elder and fell 10-5. The Thunderhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Batavia never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over North Adams. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Bryce Eads, who gave up just two hits to keep North Adams off the board. Eads has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nick Scott was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Schmittou, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Batavia is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lakota East, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
