Softball Recap: Cambridge Bears vs. Chamblee Bulldogs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cambridge). They put the hurt on the Chamblee Bulldogs with a sharp 14-2 victory on Monday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Eve Roszkowski and Lily Kimball dominated on the mound. Roszkowski pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Kimball tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Kimball has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lola Phipps, who went 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Womack, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
