Basketball Game Preview: Brandeis Broncos vs. Churchill Chargers

The Brandeis Broncos will venture away from home to square off against the Churchill Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandeis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.7 points per game this season.

On Saturday, Brandeis came up short against LEE and fell 67-59. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Broncos came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Volunteers are ranked 784th).

Brandeis might have lost, but man, Finley Montoya was a machine: he went 8 for 18 on his way to 20 points. The contest was Montoya's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sean Tisdall, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Churchill also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Clark by a score of 60-47.

Churchill's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Brandeis, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-11.

Brandeis was able to grind out a solid win over Churchill in their previous meeting on January 3rd, winning 57-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brandeis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
