Football Game Preview: Boles Hornets vs. Como-Pickton Eagles

The Boles Hornets are taking a road trip to challenge the Como-Pickton Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Como-Pickton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Boles, who comes in off a win.

Boles took a loss when they played away from home on October 3rd, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They snuck past Pewitt with a 31-26 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Hornets considering their eight-point performance the matchup before.

Grayson Drennan looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 76 yards and one TD. Those 67 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Como-Pickton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 50-22 loss at the hands of Pewitt.

Boles' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4. As for Como-Pickton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Boles was able to grind out a solid win over Como-Pickton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 27-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
