Basketball Recap: Killian Piles Up the Points Against Carol City

Killian won the last time they faced Carol City and things went their way on Monday too. The Killian Cougars took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-20 win over the Carol City Chiefs. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Killian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leiyah Bain, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Bain's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamaraja Cummings, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 16 points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Carol City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Trenia Baker, who posted seven points. That was a full 35% of Carol City's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

The victory made it two in a row for Killian and bumps their season record up to 8-2. As for Carol City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Killian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-14 win against Central on the 28th. As for Carol City, they will head out to square off against North Miami at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
