Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Skyview Wolverines with a sharp 63-42 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Leading Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy to victory were Jackson Taylor and Jamar Yelverton. Taylor dropped a double-double with 20 points and 20 rebounds, while Yelverton dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. That's the most points Yelverton has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahzii Andre, who put up nine points.

Coming up, Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Bruce Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Skyview, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Wellington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
