Softball Game Preview: Northwood Chargers vs. Jordan-Matthews Jets

Northwood hasn't had much luck against Jordan-Matthews recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Jets at 6:00 p.m. Northwood has given up an average of 12.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northwood is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They lost 11-0 to Chatham Charter.

Jasmine Wichowski spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and seven unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Makenna Lux made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jordan-Matthews). They blew past Graham 19-4 on Friday. Considering the Jets have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Jordan-Matthews and bumps their season record up to 12-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Northwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Northwood might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Jordan-Matthews in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
