Baseball Preview: Dr. Krop Lightning vs. Mater Academy Charter Lions

The Dr. Krop Lightning will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mater Academy Charter Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dr. Krop had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over North Miami Beach on Tuesday. The win was just what Dr. Krop needed coming off of a 10-0 loss in their prior game.

Zachary Haggerty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.

The team also got some help courtesy of Isreal Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI.

Dr. Krop's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Mater Academy Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
