Preview: Wylie East vs. Lakeview Centennial
The Wylie East Raiders will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against the Lakeview Centennial Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Wylie East is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
In what's become a running theme this season, Wylie East gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They never let North Garland onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. Wylie East's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.
Even though Lakeview Centennial has not done well against Rowlett recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lakeview Centennial sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Rowlett. Jehieli Arroyo had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Lakeview Centennial.
Wylie East's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Lakeview Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5-1 record this season.
Everything went Wylie East's way against Lakeview Centennial in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 as Wylie East made off with a 5-0 victory. Does Wylie East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakeview Centennial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
