Soccer Game Preview: McNair vs. Weston Ranch

McNair is 0-7 against Weston Ranch since November of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The McNair Eagles will host the Weston Ranch Cougars at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

McNair took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let River Islands onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Their offense was hitting River Islands from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Jason Smith led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Weston Ranch took on Linden on Tuesday. Weston Ranch walked away with a 3-1 victory over Linden. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Cougars were the better team in the second half.

The win got Weston Ranch back to even at 2-2-1. As for McNair, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

McNair suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Weston Ranch when the teams last played back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point McNair was down 3-0.
