Basketball Recap: Maplewood's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Maplewood hadn't done well against Lawson recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Maplewood Panthers walked away with a 56-43 win over the Lawson Lightning. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Despite the loss, Lawson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chandler Galloway posted 21 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Elliot Brooks, who put up five points.

Maplewood's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Lawson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

Coincidentally, Maplewood and Lawson will both be playing Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet the next time they take the court. Maplewood will host Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Lawson will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
