Volleyball Game Preview: Alexander Spartans vs. Athens Bulldogs

The Alexander Spartans will face off against the Athens Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alexander is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Saturday, Alexander earned a 3-1 victory over Waterford.

Alexander walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 25-11, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Athens got the win against River Valley on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Athens was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-16.

Athens found their leader in freshman Avery Hart, who had seven aces.

Athens was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They are 13-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Alexander's record now sits at 17-3. As for Athens, their record is now 15-5.

Alexander took their victory against Athens in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
