Basketball Recap: Veritas Collegiate Academy Beats Christchurch School for Their Third Straight Victory

Veritas Collegiate Academy had won two straight games and Marcqell Freeman did his part to make it three on Thursday. The Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans walked away with a 78-67 win over the Christchurch School Seahorses thanks in part to Freeman, who almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, nine boards, and nine assists. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Adam Zajicek, who went 6 for 7 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Veritas Collegiate Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 91.1 points per game. As for Christchurch School, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Veritas Collegiate Academy and Bayside will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. The timing is sure in Veritas Collegiate Academy's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Bayside has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Christchurch School, they will take on Grace Christian School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
