Basketball Recap: New London Comes Up Short

After flying high against Green Bay East last Friday, New London came back down to earth. The New London Bulldogs were outmatched by the West De Pere Phantoms and fell 84-34. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Phantoms are ranked 36th).

New London has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for West De Pere, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

New London wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 80-36 loss against Winneconne on the 14th. As for West De Pere, they will look to defend their home court on February 18th against Kaukauna at 7:00 p.m. West De Pere is on a six-game streak of home wins, Kaukauna a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
