Softball Recap: Pine Tree Comes Up Short

Pine Tree entered their matchup against New Diana on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pirates fell 6-2 to the Eagles. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 17-6.

Ma'Kayla Rougely made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Pine Tree now has a losing record of 4-5. As for New Diana, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Pine Tree will welcome Troup at 11:40 a.m. on Friday. As for New Diana, they will square off against Lindale at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. New Diana's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lindale has averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season.
