Softball Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Vikings vs. Lone Peak Knights

For the second straight game, Pleasant Grove will face off against Lone Peak. The Vikings will square off against the Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Pleasant Grove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over Lone Peak. Considering the Vikings have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Allyson Young was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Norman, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Pleasant Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in five consecutive games.

This is the second loss in a row for Lone Peak and nudges their season record down to 6-17. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.

Lone Peak's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pleasant Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .446.
