Baseball Recap: Alton Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Alton and Collinsville, and Collinsville kept the tradition alive. The Redbirds fell just short of the Kahoks by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Redbirds were not able to make up for their loss to the Kahoks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Alton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for Collinsville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-13.

Looking ahead, Collinsville will square off against Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alton will be paying especially close attention to the Kahoks' game: after the Kahoks face off against the Midgets, they'll take on Alton again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
