Basketball Recap: The Nueva School Comes Up Short

The Nueva School lost against Kehillah back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Nueva School Mavericks took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kehillah Rams. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1180th, while the Rams are ranked 580th).

Kehillah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Casey Clugage led the charge by putting up 19 points. Eshaan Katar was another key player, posting 17 points.

The Nueva School's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Kehillah, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

The Nueva School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-37 defeat against KIPP San Jose Collegiate on the 18th. Kehillah has also already played their next match, a 69-54 victory against Pescadero on the 17th.
