Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Milford Mill Academy over Catonsville in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Millers blew the Comets out of the water with a 62-0 final score. Fans of the Millers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Franklin better keep an eye on Damon Ferguson Jr.. He was instrumental in Milford Mill Academy's win, rushing for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Ferguson Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Mi'Cah Williams was another key player, throwing for 130 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes.
One reason for the win was Milford Mill Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Leading the way was Da'Rell Mercer with two. Milford Mill Academy got some further help from Jahleel Harris: he picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made three total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Special teams played a big role in the game for Milford Mill Academy, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Amauri Patterson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Milford Mill Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
