Baseball Recap: Aspen Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Aspen and Battle Mountain, and Battle Mountain kept the tradition alive. The Skiers fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 13-12 on Tuesday. The Skiers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Aspen got a massive performance out of Dylan Mika, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Williams, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Aspen's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Battle Mountain, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Huskies beat Aspen by a score of 6-4 later that day.
