Basketball Game Preview: Neodesha Blue Streaks vs. Humboldt Cubs

Neodesha is 0-10 against Humboldt since February of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Neodesha Blue Streaks will be playing at home against the Humboldt Cubs. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Neodesha will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating West Elk, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Neodesha snuck past West Elk with a 66-61 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Streaks.

Meanwhile, Humboldt put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Eureka 61-16. Fans of the Cubs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Neodesha better keep an eye on Colden Cook. He was instrumental in Humboldt's win, going 9 of 14 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Cook is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Hart, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Neodesha is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Humboldt, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Neodesha came up short against Humboldt in their previous meeting back in February, falling 50-40. Can Neodesha avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
