Dexter is a perfect 10-0 against Adrian since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Dreadnaughts will head out to face off against the Maples at 11:00 a.m. Dexter will be strutting in after a victory while Adrian will be coming in after a loss.
Dexter lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Skyline, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Dreadnaughts put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-1 win on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Dreadnaughts' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Jack Sayler was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Dexter let Chance Sobbry and Brady Arbaugh run wild. Sobbry got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Arbaugh went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Arbaugh is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matt Clayton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Adrian fell victim to Tecumseh and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Maples' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Abram Marlatt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Adrian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Solomon Hiatt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Dexter's record is now 15-6. As for Adrian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dexter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Adrian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Dexter's way against Adrian in their previous matchup back in April, as Dexter made off with a 9-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dreadnaughts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
