Gardner-Edgerton waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Lawrence Free State Firebirds by a score of 2-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-1 victory on Thursday.

Gardner-Edgerton not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Lawrence Free State between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16.

Amelia Wilhite paced Gardner-Edgerton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Wilhite got some help from Tori Thompson and her ten assists. Wilhite was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Brinley Whitney and Ava Corbin certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Whitney had nine digs and one assist, while Corbin had eight digs and one assist.

Gardner-Edgerton's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Lawrence Free State, they dropped their record down to 13-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Gardner-Edgerton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Schlagle on the 11th. As for Lawrence Free State, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against De Soto on the 11th.
