            Softball Recap: St. Patrick Fighting Irish vs. Baker Hornets        
        
		
        
        
            Friday just wasn't the day for St. Patrick's offense. They took  a  5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Baker Hornets on Friday. The  game marked the first time this year in which the Fighting Irish were not able to get on the board.
 St. Patrick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tara Nasakaitis, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases. That's the most  stolen bases  Nasakaitis has posted since back in May of 2024.
St. Patrick has  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record  this season. The  win made it two in a row for Baker and  bumps their season record up to 10-4.
 Coming up, St. Patrick will venture away from home to  take on Poplarville  at 8:30  a.m.  on Saturday. Poplarville's pitching crew has only allowed three  runs per game  this season, so St. Patrick's hitters will have their work cut out for them. We've got a battle between Hornets coming up. East Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2  runs per game  this season.
