Baseball Recap: Rossville Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

Rossville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Twin Lakes Indians by a score of 8-5. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 8-4 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

RJ Vantuinen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Britt, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Rossville pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Twin Lakes, they moved to 11-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Rossville will be playing at home against West Lafayette at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Twin Lakes, they will head out on the road to square off against Tri-County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
