Volleyball Recap: Athens Warriors vs. Pontiac Indians

Athens saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Pontiac Indians by a score of 2-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lydia Hart paced Athens' offense, picking up nine kills. Hart got some help from Arabelle Cunningham and her 25 assists.

Pontiac was led to victory by Morgan Dewald and Izzy Hinz. Dewald had 17 digs, three aces, and one block, while Hinz had ten digs. That's the most digs Dewald has posted since back in September.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Pontiac, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Athens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Mt. Pulaski on the 18th. As for Pontiac, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Galena on the 18th.
