In other batting news, ALEXA OLSEN was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was LOIANA IONGI, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Meanwhile, American Fork was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Lone Peak.
Sarah Jensen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nataanii Fielding, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
American Fork's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Hunter, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
American Fork's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hunter has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for American Fork, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Hunter's sizable advantage in that area, the Cavemen will need to find a way to close that gap.
