Baseball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

If Edison was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of South Brunswick on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the East Brunswick Bears by a score of 11-10 on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Anthony Calantoni was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Dom Innocenti also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for East Brunswick, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

While Edison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
