Mount Union is 9-1 against Juniata Valley since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Mount Union will square off against Juniata Valley at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Mount Union gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Northern Bedford County 9-2. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Cody McClain was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julian Weirich, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Levi Hunsinger was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Mount Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Bedford County only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Juniata Valley made easy work of Glendale on Monday and carried off a 22-5 win.
Like Mount Union, Juniata Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Kyler Spurlin. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Spurlin was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Ethan Scalia was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Blayne Sager, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The victory got Juniata Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Mount Union, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Mount Union came out on top in a nail-biter against Juniata Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount Union since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
