Canutillo has gone 9-1 against Jefferson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Canutillo Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 10:30 a.m. Canutillo's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Canutillo managed to keep up with Chapin until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Canutillo lost 5-1 to Chapin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 401st in Texas, while the Huskies are ranked 162nd in Texas).

Canutillo's goal came courtesy of Mariana Favela, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against El Paso, falling 6-0. That's two games in a row now that the Silver Foxes have lost by exactly six goals.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Canutillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Canutillo suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Jefferson in their previous matchup on February 8th. Can Canutillo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
