Bristol Central extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 5-5 in the process. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Northwest Catholic Lions 3-1. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

As for Northwest Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Northwest Catholic's part, Will Chyra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.
