Softball Game Preview: Irmo Yellow Jackets vs. River Bluff Gators

Irmo hasn't had much luck against River Bluff recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 6:30 p.m. Irmo has given up an average of 14.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lexington hit Irmo with a eight-run second inning last Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellow Jackets lost 15-2 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, River Bluff hadn't done well against White Knoll recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. The Gators came out on top against the Timberwolves by a score of 7-4.

River Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Irmo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Irmo suffered a grim 20-4 defeat to River Bluff in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
