Baseball Recap: David Douglas Comes Up Short

David Douglas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They lost 18-6 to the Sandy Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-6 last Wednesday.

David Douglas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Tariq Golden also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

David Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Sandy, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Looking ahead, David Douglas will head out to challenge Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sandy, they will challenge Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
