Softball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

Buena fell victim to Sunnyside and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 15-0. The Colts have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Buena saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Buena's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Sunnyside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buena will welcome Nogales at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nogales has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.11 runs per game on average), something Buena will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sunnyside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tucson High Magnet School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Sunnyside's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
