Dighton and Ness City are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Two weeks ago, Dighton lost to Wallace County at home by a 48-34 margin. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ness City). They strolled past Kinsley with points to spare back in December of 2024, taking the game 50-33. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.
Dighton better keep an eye on Angela Tavarez. She was instrumental in Ness City's win, going 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Tavarez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Tillitson, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points.
The win got Ness City back to even at 3-3. As for Dighton, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
