Baseball Game Preview: Seckman Jaguars vs. Kirkwood Pioneers

The Seckman Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Kirkwood Pioneers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Seckman's win against Festus wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 9-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kirkwood). They were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over Parkway Central on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won nine in a row.

Seckman's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Kirkwood, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
