Football Recap: Dunbar Starts Season with Victory Against Wilmer-Hutchins + How To Watch

Dunbar had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 39-0 win over the Wilmer-Hutchins Eagles. The Wildcats pushed the score to 33-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had no chance of recovering from.

Kamron Lloyd was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Marcus McDade also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dunbar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 407 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Looking ahead, Dunbar is taking a road trip to square off against Wyatt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilmer-Hutchins, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 50-21 defeat against Southwest on the 4th.
