Baseball Recap: Belleville West Beats Collinsville for Their Third Straight Victory

Belleville West waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Collinsville Kahoks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-7 on Tuesday.

Chase Boente tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Belleville West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Schaltenbrand, who went 3-for-4 with one run. That's the most hits Schaltenbrand has posted since back in March. Another was Ethan Hofmeister, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Belleville West's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Collinsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belleville West will challenge O'Fallon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collinsville, they will face off against Granite City at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
