Volleyball Recap: Porter-Gaud Snags 11th Victory in Last 14 Games

Porter-Gaud posted their closest victory since September 27th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Musselman Applemen 2-1. For the Cyclones, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Applemen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2023.

Allie Abernathy paced Porter-Gaud's offense, picking up 15 kills. Abernathy got some help from Harriett Matenaer and her 21 assists. Laney Barganier and Malaya Singletary kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Porter-Gaud is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-15 record this season. As for Musselman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-11.

Porter-Gaud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against River Bluff on the 11th. As for Musselman, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Ashley Hall on the 11th.
