Football Recap: Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech Takes a Loss

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were beaten by the Audenried Rockets 42-2. Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.

Sameir Anderson threw for 60 yards on one of seven attempts. Semaj Ali was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards. On the ground, Kasseem Johnson rushed for 55 yards.

As for Audenried, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points over those games.

Audenried's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Velez, who threw for 70 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Khalil Smith was in the mix as well, providing the Rockets with two scores.

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech has already played their next game, an 18-6 defeat against Samuel Fels on the 26th. As for Audenried, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 34-0 win against Kensington on the 25th.
