Volleyball Recap: Parkland Starts Season with Win on the Road

Parkland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the William Allen Canaries 3-0 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-17.

Leading Parkland to victory were Chloe Coonradt and Addy Ochoa. Coonradt had 11 digs and one assist, while Ochoa had five digs and three aces. Those 11 digs gave Coonradt a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Parkland was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Parkland is set to face off against their familiar foe Allentown Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, William Allen will take on rival Emmaus at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
