Basketball Recap: Ribault Starts Season with Victory at Home

Ribault took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 67-60 win over the Westside Wolverines. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won five in a row.

Ribault was led to victory by Ian Beaufort and Brandon McCoy. Beaufort posted 25 points, while McCoy had 16 points along with five assists and four steals. Those four steals gave McCoy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zion Hall, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 11 points.

Westside lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Chase Williams-Pierce, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janard Williams-Biggiers, who earned 13 points.

Ribault didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-54 win against Riverside on the 19th. As for Westside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-50 victory against Wolfson on the 18th.
