Softball Game Preview: Clarksville Panthers vs. Booneville Bearcats

The Clarksville Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Booneville Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Clarksville nor Booneville posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Clarksville is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 10-2 to Dardanelle. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Sand Lizards since March 10, 2020.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Booneville's offense. They fell 3-0 to Lavaca on Tuesday. The Bearcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Booneville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Clarksville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Clarksville came out on top in a nail-biter against Booneville in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
