Baseball Game Preview: Patton Panthers vs. Polk County Wolverines

For the second straight game, Patton will face off against Polk County. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Patton came up short against Polk County and fell 8-5.

For Polk County's part, Noah Harden was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Harden has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Gunnar Alm was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Mark Jarrett was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Patton has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Polk County, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-10 record.
